Digital Human Library is a partner of ours with the Media and Digital Literacy Internship class. They are looking for some volunteers this summer. 

Working with them will increase your digital, media and teaching skills, and looks great on a resume.  

You will be able to volunteer from home and work on your own computer.

Reminder: Securing Your PRC/VSS documentation for Fall 2018

We would ask that you read the below communication carefully.

This is just a reminder to all incoming and returning B.Ed Professional Program students, that each of you should be making plans to start the process of submitting your application to your hometown Police Service location, to secure the required PRC/VSS documentation required for our programs.

Important:The April 17th, 2018 communication entitled: "Going To A Local Police Service Location OR Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) For Your PRC/VSS", had a standardized request letter attached to it.

Please be sure to print the letter and take it with you to the Police Service location.

The Faculty of Education strongly encourages all B.Ed students to start this process no later than June 15th, 2018 - to ensure that there is ample time for you to obtain the report and submit it to the Faculty of Education on time, to join us this Fall 2018.

When Going to Toronto Police Services(TPS)
Those of you planning on going to a Toronto Police Service (TPS) location - please remember that there is a specific process and tailored application form, that must be used.

A separate communication outlining that process was also circulated on April 17th, 2018.
The subject line read: " Do you live in Toronto? Are You Going to Toronto Police Services To Secure YourPRC/VSS for Fall 2018?"

Submitting your PRC/VSS Documentation To The Faculty of Education Office:

Students in YEAR 1 of 2 Year Program:
Are encouraged to get their documentation in as soon as classes start, but have until no later than September 28th, 2018 to provide the original  PRC/VSS report (only required if your Fall 2018 is in Simcoe County District School Board) and a photocopy (in a  separate sealed envelope) to the Education Administration Office, to be permitted to head out on Fall 2018 placement.

Any YEAR 1 students completing their Fall 2018 placement in Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board do not need to supply the Education Office with their original PRC/VSS reports. We only need a photocopy (in a sealed envelope).

Students in 1 Year B.Ed program Or YEAR 2 of 2 Year Program:
Are encouraged to get their documentation in as soon as classes start, but have until no later than October 12th, 2018 to provide the original  PRC/VSS report (only required if your Fall 2018 is in Simcoe County District School Board) and a photocopy (in a  separate sealed envelope) to the Education Administration Office, to be permitted to head out on Fall 2018 placement. 

Any  1 Year B.Ed program Or YEAR 2 of 2 Year Program student completing their Fall 2018 placement in any other school board other than Simcoe County District School Board do not need to supply the Education Office with their original PRC/VSS reports. We only need a photocopy (in a sealed envelope).

First Nations School - K'ak'ot'lats'i School Job Opportunities

First Nations School - K'ak'ot'lats'i School is a First Nation school located on Northern Vancouver Island near Port Hardy, BC.

With the large scale hiring initiatives by the neighbouring school districts, they are finding it extremely difficult to attract suitable candidates to the region.

They are looking for applicants who have demonstrated interest in working in a First Nation school.

The attached posting  is for their newly implemented Gr. 8/9 program, however, they have recently closed postings for K/1, 2/3 & 6/7.

SCDSB - Outdoor Environmental Education/Healthy Active Living Coordinator Temporary Position

Simcoe County District School Board is looking for qualified applicants for the temporary position of Outdoor Environmental Education/Healthy Active Living Coordinator.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, the successful applicant will provide a link between the Facility Services Department, the Program Department and the Mental Health and Well-being Department by facilitating the integration of environmental education and healthy active living within outdoor and indoor learning spaces.
