Volunteer Opportunity
Kelsey Robson, PhD Candidate at Lakehead University, is looking for students who might be interested in supporting her in transcribing video data for her PhD dissertation research study. This would be an excellent opportunity for students who have an interest in research, or potential graduate work. The study supports work in the field of Early Childhood Education, and works with philosophies connected to the Reggio Emilia approach to education. Upon completion of the work, Kelsey is willing to write a reference letter outlining your roles and responsibilities in connection to the project. If you are interested in volunteering for this opportunity or would like more information, please email Kelsey directly at karobson@lakeheadu.ca

Shift Your Thinking is dedicated to helping parents, youth, and educators, along with other professionals to support the success of children with learning disabilities, dyslexia and ADHD, so they can flourish in the classroom and at home. We bring in guest experts (Professors, Psychologists, SLP's, Scientists, Authors, Educators etc.) to cover a wide variety of topics that relate to learning differently and working with youth with learning differences. We cover learning disabilities, anxiety and worry, executive function, ADHD, comorbidities, resilience, emotions, assistive technology, accommodations, motivation, the science of reading, and more.
We have many low-cost or no-cost resources and virtual events available. Two specific programs of note would be:
- Our FREE SYT Support Library which is full of curated video content from a wide variety of experts in their field. These Masterclasses are free to access and would be a phenomenal supplementary resource for students.
- Our Annual Summit which is coming up on November 4th and 5th. It is an online Summit with a variety of guest experts there to provide insights, answer questions, and help to share the best ways to support our kids who learn differently while at home or in school.
