Hoping to Graduate in June 2021? - Importance of Creating Your Ontario College of Teachers Profile - Due By Feb 19th, 2021

Attention all YEAR 2 (of 2 Year B.Ed) Students Hoping to Graduate in the Spring: (June 2021)

As we move closer toward the beginning of the New Year and the final term of your B.Ed degree journey, there are a number of tasks you will have to complete to become recognized as a Certified Teacher in Ontario, by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).

We ask that each of you complete the necessary steps to create an Online Certification Applicant Profile, via the Ontario College of Teacher`s website. (https://www.oct.ca/)

Starting your Online Certification Applicant Profile should be done as soon as possible.

Note About The OCT Application Fee:
You do not have to pay the OCT application fee before you can supply the Faculty of Education with your "pending" OCT Application #.  The application fee can be paid at a later date. The Faculty of Education requires your pending OCT # as soon as you start your OCT application process.

Your Application/Certification Number will not change, as you work to supply OCT with everything required on their certification checklist.

IF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION DOES NOT RECEIVE YOUR SUBMISSION OF THE INFORMATION REQUESTED IN THIS SURVEY by the communicated deadline, YOU WILL NOT BE FORMALLY RECOMMENDED FOR CERTIFICATION TO TEACH IN ONTARIO TO THE ONTARIO COLLEGE OF TEACHERS, in late May 2021.

AND, if you are late with your submission of the requested information, THERE MAY BE DELAYS IN THE HANDLING OF YOUR APPLICATION, OR CHANGES TO THE REQUIREMENTS THAT NEED TO BE SATISFIED, TO HAVE YOUR CERTIFICATION APPLICATION CONSIDERED.

In order for us to be able to formally recommend you to the Ontario College of Teachers for your certification at the end of May 2021, we need each of you to answer a few questions on this form (link below), by the deadline indicated.

Link to Survey To Submit Your Pending OCT # to the Faculty of Education:

The absolute latest the Faculty of Education can receive your pending OCT # for inclusion in our 2021 submission, is Friday Feb 19, 2021.

Please mark this due date in your calendar!
