The plot: Lakehead University has hired Dr. Joseph Noseworthy (who failed to mention a stint at a certain school of magic) as its newest chemistry professor. When the University Senate fails to approve a new Defence Against the Dark Arts course he has proposed, Noseworthy uses wizardry to tear up every Lakehead degree parchment issued since 1965. The pieces of parchment are now locked in a series of vaults.

Empower Your School Community with Social Stride's Free Workshops for Teachers

Dear Principals, Teachers, Staff and Trustees,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to introduce you to the Social Stride Program offered by the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights. Social Stride is committed to promoting a safer and more inclusive digital landscape. We are happy to offer a free workshop that empowers teachers with valuable insights, strategies, and resources that can be integrated seamlessly into the classroom environment, fostering a safe and respectful online community. Student Locker Availability At The Downtown Campus (Heritage Place)

There are a limited number of lockers available for use, and they will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.

Important Tips About Securing A Locker:

• Any interested student must have a fellow student to share the locker with
• BOTH of the sharing students must be present at the Education Administration Office to sign the locker agreement form 
• Students must supply their own lock for their locker
• The duration of the locker ownership runs until April 30th, 2024 - after which, any locks and locker contents will be disposed of by Security

The Education Administration Office will begin the rental of lockers on Monday, September 11, 2023.

Obtaining Your LU ID Card

If you are a 2-year B.Ed program student joining the Lakehead University community as a new student this Fall, you will need to obtain an ID card.

Parking Options - Lakehead University Downtown Campus

 Parking Options at our Downtown Campus (Heritage Place - 1 Colborne Street W):

The Faculty of Education Administration has received a number of recent inquiries about parking options at our downtown campus location.

There is absolutely no student parking at the Heritage Place building. (This includes both tenant and visitor parking).

The entire Heritage Place Building parking lot is monitored on a daily basis and cars parked illegally will be tagged by Security and towed at the owner’s expense.
All students are encouraged to check the Transportation page on the Lakehead University website for parking options within the City of Orillia.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you need to travel to our 500 University Avenue campus location, the University will honor a valid Lot#6 parking pass issued by the City of Orillia, at the 500 University Avenue campus, for the 2023-2024 academic year.
