Completing A Catholic Placement VERSUS Applying For Work With A Catholic Board

There seems to be confusion surrounding what is required to complete a Catholic Placement versus what is required for employment in a Catholic Board in Ontario.
Hopefully the below will clarify the difference for you.

Requirements To Complete a Catholic Placement:

• Must be baptised Catholic
• Must be comfortable in your understanding/knowledge of the Catholic Religion

Level of comfort in performing such tasks as:

• Lead a Prayer Session/Circle
• Teach the Stations of the Cross
• Attend mass when it is a planned event for the classroom

Requirements For Employment Within a Catholic School Board:

• The pre-service Education elective: Religious Education or;
• Religious Education AQ Part 1 (completed in Spring session before graduation)
• A Pastoral Letter (specifics vary from board to board - visit their website)
• A Faith Portfolio (specifics vary from board to board - visit their website)
