1 Year B.Ed and YEAR 2 Students Only - Wednesday October 4th, 2017 - Federation Day

All 1 Year B.Ed and Year Two B.Ed students are asked to attend our planned Federation Day at the Orillia Community Church (OCC), at 64 Colborne Street. 

Registration: 830am - 900am
Presentations: (various) 900am until 5:00pm
Students are asked to make arrangements for their own lunch that day.

The days' presentations include:

• Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO)

• Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA)

• Education Quality & Accountability Office (EQAO)

• Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario (QECO)

• Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)

There will also be an Educators' Panel Discussion. A panel consisting of principals, teachers, a faculty member, a member of the Wellness Centre and OCT.

The focus of this panel is "Teaching Today's Students".
All candidates have been asked to consider generating questions for the panelists that address such areas as equity, diversity, critical thinking, wellness (students and teachers), student engagement, accountable student talk, active learning, etc. Students are asked to make their own arrangements for lunch that day.

Please Note:The OECTA presentation will run from 4 to 5 p.m.
Students who are not planning to teach in a Catholic School Board can choose to not attend that session.
