Invitation: brief survey on climate change teaching, Canada and Greenland

Dear Potential Participant,

We invite you to take part in research we are conducting called Teacher Education Students' Ideas on Climate Change Education. Participation involves spending about 10 minutes answering 18 questions on an online survey (link at bottom).

This research will help us understand whether teacher education students in Canada and Greenland feel prepared to teach about climate change in order to make recommendations for program improvement.

Participation is voluntary and anonymous. Drs. Berger and Poort will not know the identity of those who participate. There is no risk of harm, or personal benefit, from taking part, though helping improve climate change education may make a small contribution to fighting climate change. Only Dr. Berger and Dr. Poort will have access to the raw data. Data will be safety stored for five years in a password protected computer in Dr. Berger’s office at Lakehead University. Findings will be shared through presentations, journal articles and reports.

If you have questions about the research or would like a summary of the research results, please contact us (Paul Berger: paul.berger@lakeheadu.ca, 001-807-343-8708 / Lars Poort: lap@uni.gl299 38 57 12).

This research has been approved by the Lakehead Research Ethics Board. They may be contacted with questions or concerns about the research (research@lakeheadu.ca   tel: 001-807-343-8283).

Completion of the survey is taken as your consent to participate. Once you click submit, your answers cannot be withdrawn.  Thank you for considering taking part.

Regards,
Paul & Lars
