Attention all Legacy 1 Year B.Ed and YEAR 2 (of 2 Year B.Ed) Students Hoping to Graduate This Spring: (June 2019)
As we move closer toward the beginning of the New Year and the final term of your B.Ed degree journey, there are a number of tasks you will have to complete to become recognized as a Certified Teacher in Ontario, by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
We ask that each of you complete the necessary steps to create an Online Certification Applicant Profile, via the Ontario College of Teacher`s website. (https://www.oct.ca/)
Starting your Online Certification Applicant Profile should be started as soon as possible.
PLEASE NOTE:
You do not have to pay the OCT application fee before you can supply the Faculty of Education with your "pending" OCT Application #. The application fee can be paid at a later date. The Faculty of Education requires your pending OCT # as soon as you start your OCT application process. Your Application/Certification Number will not change, as you work to supply OCT with everything required on their certification checklist.
IF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION DOES NOT RECEIVE YOUR SUBMISSION OF THE INFORMATION REQUESTED IN THIS SURVEY by the communicated deadline, YOU WILL NOT BE FORMALLY RECOMMENDED FOR CERTIFICATION TO TEACH IN ONTARIO TO THE ONTARIO COLLEGE OF TEACHERS.
AND, if you are late with your submission of the requested information, THERE MAY BE DELAYS IN THE HANDLING OF YOUR APPLICATION, OR CHANGES TO THE REQUIREMENTS THAT NEED TO BE SATISFIED, TO HAVE YOUR CERTIFICATION APPLICATION CONSIDERED.
In order for us to be able to formally recommend you to the Ontario College of Teachers for your certification at the end of May 2019, we need each of you to answer a few questions on this form by the deadline indicated.

The absolute latest the Faculty of Education can receive your pending OCT # for inclusion is Friday Feb 22, 2019.
