The Faculty of Education has scheduled "Brush Up" Math Sessions for any interested students, that will take place before the compulsory Math Competency Exam is set to occur. The brush-up sessions are scheduled on several dates during the first week of classes in September 2019 at Heritage Place. The Math Competency Exam takes place on Saturday, September 7th, 2019. More details regarding the exam will follow in the next couple of weeks.
PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU SIGN UP FOR THE BRUSH UP SEESIONS:
- These sessions are ONLY for students who have been working on their math content knowledge. These sessions are designed to give those students who have been working on their math knowledge a chance to practice problem-solving prior to the exam.
- These are not workshops designed to TEACH you math.
- It is not possible for us to teach all the relevant math you will need for the exam in one or two sessions (and you will find these sessions more confusing than helpful).
- However, if you have been working on your math, or feel confident about your math understanding, these sessions will provide you with an opportunity for some extra practice.
