Dear Lakehead University Students,
On behalf of the executive team for the Queen’s Conference on Education, I would like to cordially invite you to our conference! Since its inception in 2002, the Queen's Conference on Education has evolved into the largest student-run annual conference at Queen's University. The conference is geared towards anyone who is interested in enriching and evolving their viewpoints on education.
This year, the theme of our conference is The Innovation of Education: Celebrating QCE’s 20th Anniversary. We aim to provide aspiring teachers, and anyone interested in education, with an inspiring and enlightening experience that will help them to succeed as an educator. Our conference hopes to expand your mindset on what student success means and provide creative new ways to help all students thrive from a holistic point of view. The conference will take place on Saturday, February 27th, 2021 via Zoom from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST. The fee for the conference is $15.00, which includes the following:
- A keynote speaker: Orlando Bowen
- A speaker on teaching abroad
- Three workshops that explore the themes of:
- Social Changes and How They Influence the Education Community
- Advances in Technology for a Changing Society
- A Holistic Approach to Supporting Student Well-Being
- An interactive panel discussion on the topic of:
- Creating Inclusive Classroom Spaces that Celebrate Diversity
- A great opportunity to meet peers and professionals from both similar and different backgrounds, who all share a passion for education
