The Ontario College of Teachers Scholarship Program supports and sustains excellence in the teaching profession by reinforcing high standards and professional competence. Through its scholarships, the College rewards the achievements and characteristics of individuals who model the values of teaching as a respected, time-honoured and forward-looking profession.
Teacher candidates in an Ontario consecutive or concurrent teacher education program who will graduate in 2022 are eligible to apply for scholarships of $1,500 each:
New this year is the Brian P. McGowan Scholarship for Resilience, named in honour of the College’s fourth registrar which will be awarded to a candidate who demonstrates resilience and tenacity in the face of adversity.
The Joseph W. Atkinson Scholarship recognizes a candidate who demonstrates both outstanding academic achievement and experience that reflects a high level of preparedness for teacher education.
The Ontario College of Teachers Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Scholarship and the Ontario College of Teachers Intermediate/Senior Scholarship are awarded to candidates on a holistic basis that takes into account extracurricular activities and background experiences.
