Fieldstone Day School (JK to Grade 8) and Fieldstone King's College School (Grade 9 to 12), located at Dufferin and Lawrence, are currently looking for full-time teachers for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Overview

Fieldstone is located on a spacious 6.4-acre campus in the Dufferin and Lawrence area. The 47,000-square-feet building is equipped with spacious classrooms on three floors. Outside the building, the students enjoy large athletic fields, manicured gardens and a mini-amphitheater that can be used for classes in warmer weather.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Education (B.Ed.)
• OCT Certification would be ideal
• Communication Skills: You must be able to speak clearly to students, other teachers, parents and administration officials.
• Instruction Skills: You will have to explain new ideas and unfamiliar concepts with authority and in a clear and concise way so that students can understand. You must work to keep the students engaged.
• Writing Skills: Teachers write reports, notes home, emails, etc.
• Patience: The students you work with will have different backgrounds and abilities.
• Creativity: Teachers must find ways to involve students into their lessons. Additionally, teachers have to work with students with different learning styles.
• People Skills: Engaging parents and creating positive and healthy relationships with students and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students;
• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to all students in the class;
• Assigning work, correcting and marking work carried out by students;
• Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment and behaviour of students;
• Communicating, consulting and co-operating with other members of the school staff, including those having posts of special responsibility and parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of students;
• Advising and co-operating with the Head of School, Assistant Head and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral care arrangements;
• Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subjects.
