The Faculty of Education has partnered with the Elementary Teacher's Federation of Ontario, to offer you this important and relevant workshop on January 23rd, 2015.
Although it is not mandatory to attend, you
will find that its topic is one of growing importance in Ontario classrooms.
Workshop Description:
Experience in the Professional Relations and
Services Department at ETFO has confirmed that many instances of teachers facing false allegations of physical or sexual
misconduct or investigations by the employer are often the result of
questionable judgment and practices related to
professional boundaries.
This workshop focuses on maintaining
appropriate professional boundaries and implementing best practice to
minimize the risk of a teacher becoming the victim of false
allegations or disciplinary action.
Video clips, day to day school scenarios and
relevant legislation including the role of the College of Teachers are
incorporated into this workshop to encourage all
participants to consistently use best practices and maintain exemplary
professionalism at all times.
Because of space constraints, we have planned
2 sessions on each date.
Cohorts have been assigned to a specific
time-slot to attend these available workshops, based on availability in class schedules.
The ETFO Workshop details &
