Now that the Sept 7th, 2019 math exam results have been released, the Faculty of Education is reaching out to all Year 1 (of 2 Year B.Ed program) students who were unsuccessful, to clearly communicate the next steps and the tight timeline to complete what is required of you.
Step #1
Make an appointment with our Math Exam Coordinator, Sharon Malyczewsky to review your exam. This meeting will help you determine your strengths and areas of opportunity, to focus your studying efforts for your next attempt in March 2020. Meeting with the Math Exam Coordinator is a requirement for all Year 1 students. Sign up sheets are available in the Education Administration Office at Heritage Place.
Step #2
Please drop your .50 FCE education elective from your current course registration. You must do this, to make room in your course registration for a section of EDUC 3519 - this course is a requirement for all students who are unsuccessful in their 1st attempt of the Math Competency Exam. EDUC 3519 will now count as your elective in your Year 1 studies.
Step #3
Complete the Google Survey named: "Registering For EDUC 3519 - Mathematics for PJ Elective" included in this email - by no later than Monday, September 9th, 2019 at 9am. This survey allows you to submit a preference of which section of EDUC 3519 you are interested in. IMPORTANT: There is no guarantee that you will be assigned your preferred section as there are 25 seats in each section and EDUC 3519 course section assignments will be decided on a first-submitted, first-considered basis.

Step #4
On Monday, Sept 9th, 2019 the Faculty of Education will review the survey submissions received, and place all students in an assigned section of EDUC 3519 based on the approach outlined in Step #3. The Faculty of Education will arrange to have you manually registered for your assigned section of EDUC 3519. Once completed, you will receive a system-generated email confirming the addition to your course registration, in your Lakehead University email inbox.
Step #5
Once you receive the details for your registered section of EDUC 3519 as an addition to your course registration, it is the Faculty of Education's expectation that you begin to attend your EDUC 3519 class the week of Sept 9-13th, 2019, as a part of your regular class schedule for the balance of the year.
The Faculty of Education wishes you the very best in your continued B.Ed studies.
