Availability of Math Brush Up Sessions - Before Next Sitting of Math Exam

The Faculty of Education has scheduled "Brush UpMath Sessions for any interested students,  to take place before the compulsory Math Competency Exam which is set to occur on Thursday March 21st, 2019 at 10:00 am at Heritage Place.

PLEASE REMEMBER:
  • These sessions are ONLY for students who have been working on their math content knowledge. These sessions are designed to give those students who have been working on their math knowledge a chance to practice problem-solving prior to the exam.
  • These are not workshops designed to TEACH you math.
  • It is not possible for us to teach all the relevant math you will need for the exam in one or two sessions (and you will find these sessions more confusing than helpful).
  • However, if you have been working on your math, or feel confident about your math understanding, these sessions will provide you with an opportunity for some extra practice.

WHEN ARE THE "BRUSH UPSESSIONS TAKING PLACE?

DATE: MON March 4th, 2019
  • 10:30-12:30 (OH007 and OH010)

Research and Innovation Week -- March 4th to 6th, 2019

Forwarding on behalf of Dr. Ruth Beatty

Hello Everyone!

Below please find the schedule for Research & Innovation week. As you can see there are many interesting sessions planned. I'd like to draw your attention to two sessions in particular. The first is the Innovation in Education Panel, which will take place on Monday, March 4, and will feature presentations by Gary Pluim, Ellen Field, Steven Secord, and Helen DeWaard. The panel will convene at Simcoe Hall in room 2014 from 1:30 to 3:30. The second event is a display of research posters by some of our second year students, which will be presented in the Orsi Learning Commons (Simcoe Hall) on Tuesday, March 5 from 10:00 to 11:30. This is a wonderful opportunity to highlight some of the work being done by faculty and students!

Many thanks!

Ruth

Are You Interested in an ALTERNATIVE PLACEMENT for Placement 4 in YEAR 2 (Winter 2020)?

If you are interested in this unique opportunity in 2019-2020, there will be 2 information sessions next Tuesday, February 26th, 2019 for any Year 1 students who would like to learn about the Alternative (non-classroom, non-traditional) Placement option that is available for Placement 4 in Year 2.

The meetings are scheduled for 10:30- 11:30 a.m. (Room #7) and 2:30- 3:30 p.m.  (Room #8). You do not need to sign up for the session.

Very Important:

Specific alternative placement requests (both non-classroom and non-traditional) are submitted as a part of the formal Alternative Placement Application process and will be due on or before September 12, 2019.

We will be providing some information about how you submit your application, requirements that must be met to qualify, to be considered for an Alternative Placement at the sessions on Tuesday, February 26, 2019.
