Securing Your Ministry of Education Curriculum Documents for Fall 2019 ( Year 1 of B.Ed Professional Program)

Good Afternoon,

A number of your required Education classes during the B.Ed Professional Program make it mandatory for you to have a copy of the Ministry of Education’s standardized Elementary Curriculum Documents, which will serve as textbooks for a number of your courses.

These documents can be obtained at: www.serviceontario.ca, where you can download and save each PDF document to a PC or laptop.

The specific ministry documents of importance to each of you in our B.Ed Professional Programs, are:
·  The Arts (2009)
·  Health & Physical Education (2015)
·  The Kindergarten Program - Full-Day Early Learning (2016)
·  Language (2006 revised)
·  Mathematics (2005 revised)
·  Science & Technology (2007)
·  Social Studies (2018)
You can download a PDF version of each  of the above curriculum document here: http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/curriculum/elementary/subjects.html

You will also need:
·  Special Education in Ontario (k-12) -  Download Here: http://edu.gov.on.ca/eng/document/policy/os/onschools_2017e.pdf
·   Growing Success  -  Download Here:  http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/policyfunding/growSuccess.pdf
·  Learning For All  -  Download Here: http://edu.gov.on.ca/eng/general/elemsec/speced/LearningforAll2013.pdf
·  Kindergarten Addendum – Download Here: http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/policyfunding/GSKindergartenAddendum2018.pdf
If referring to a PDF from a PC or laptop doesn't work well for you, you may wish to download these curriculum documents to a USB stick, and take them into a local print shop to arrange to print them and have them bound as books, that you can use throughout the year.
These are documents crucial to some of your core courses while completing your B.Ed degree, so it is strongly recommended that you arrange to secure them anytime now, or throughout the balance of the summer - to ensure you are prepared for the first week of classes.

You will find these documents to be an invaluable resource during the program, and as additions to your own Education Resource "Library".

We will be sure to keep you posted (via LU email) should any further curriculum documents be required, before Fall 2019.

Course Registration - B.Ed Professional Program (Year 1 and Year 2)

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Please be advised that course registration for 2019-2020 for all Year 1 and Year 2 B.Ed Professional Program students will open at 9:00am on Monday July 15th, 2019.

At 9:00am (or a few minutes after) on July 15th, you will receive an email from Julie Howell in the Faculty of Education, that outlines your 2019-2020 class schedule assignment. You will be required to follow the explicit instructions in that communication, to register for all of your assigned B.Ed Professional Program course sections.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Lakehead Concurrent Education students who are finishing up some summer coursework to be approved for the transition into Year 1 our B.Ed Professional Program in Fall 2019 will also receive their assigned class schedule on July 15th, 2019. However, until a final degree audit is performed to confirm your program requirements have been satisfied and approval is obtained, course registration will be restricted. Once you have been approved, your year level will be changed and the registration restriction will be lifted, allowing you to move forward with registration.
