Availability of Math Brush Up Sessions - Before September 2019 Sitting of Math Exam

The Faculty of Education has scheduled "Brush UpMath Sessions for any interested students, that will take place before the compulsory Math Competency Exam is set to occur. The brush-up sessions are scheduled on several dates during the first week of classes in September 2019 at Heritage Place. The Math Competency Exam takes place on Saturday, September 7th, 2019. More details regarding the exam will follow in the next couple of weeks.

PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING BEFORE YOU SIGN UP FOR THE BRUSH UP SEESIONS:
  • These sessions are ONLY for students who have been working on their math content knowledge. These sessions are designed to give those students who have been working on their math knowledge a chance to practice problem-solving prior to the exam.
  • These are not workshops designed to TEACH you math.
  • It is not possible for us to teach all the relevant math you will need for the exam in one or two sessions (and you will find these sessions more confusing than helpful).
  • However, if you have been working on your math, or feel confident about your math understanding, these sessions will provide you with an opportunity for some extra practice.
WHEN ARE THE "BRUSH UPSESSIONS TAKING PLACE?
  • TUES Sept 3rd, 2019 - 500-700pm in OH007, OH008 and OH010
  • THURS Sept 5th, 2019 - 500-700pm in OH007 and OH008

  • FRI Sept 6th, 2019  - 1230-230pm on OH002
NOTE: Choose a session that does not conflict with any of your required courses as a part of your class schedule.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
We would ask that any B.Ed student wishing to attend either session, please plan to visit the Education Administration Office in Heritage Place during the first week of classes in September, to sign up.

Obtaining Lakehead Student ID Cards - For Fall 2019

If you are a returning Lakehead University Bachelor of Education student you do not need to secure a new student ID card, if you already have one.
Any Year 1 (of 2 Year B.Ed program) student who has not yet obtained a Lakehead Student ID card, can do so at our 500 University Avenue campus location.

The Importance of having an LU ID Card:
All B.Ed students writing our Math Competency Exam on Saturday, Sept 7th, 2019 must have an LU Student ID card with them.
But wait.... It doesn't stop there!
