Chair's Video Message

Hello everyone. As we come to the end of the academic year, I have one more video message for you. This one has some information about summative assessments, upcoming interview workshops to help those who are about to enter the job market, and supports available to you whether you are continuing your teacher training or ready to graduate.

Here's the link to this week's video: https://youtu.be/HaI10U0kLNc

As I mention in the video, I'll be going on sabbatical on July 1st and taking the year to write a book. I wish you all the best as you continue in your teaching journey. I hope you'll keep in touch via our Facebook page for alumni. Many of you are already group members, but here's the page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/myteachingjourney/

Take good care of yourselves!

Chair's Video Message

Hello everyone. I'm feeling a bit pensive this week realizing that many of you have completed your second placement. In this video I share some thoughts about the difficulty of balancing the work of a teacher and a personal life. You can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/HQ0904R4CIE

I'd also like to request that those of you in the 2 year program consider getting involved in the Education Student Teachers Association by contacting the Lakehead University Student Union. They'll be taking applications to start new clubs beginning on May 1st. The purpose statement of ESTA is as follows:

The Education Student Teachers’ Association represents the interest of all students in the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University. ESTA is an association composed of an executive elected by the students for the students. It is the goal of ESTA to make every Faculty of Education student’s experience at Lakehead University an enjoyable and memorable educational experience. ESTA executives will work cooperatively as an association, as well as with faculty and staff at Lakehead University, to ensure that all academic, social and charitable events proceed in a professional manner and in the best interest of all parties involved.

I hope you have a good week, and I'll talk to you one more time next week.
