Are You Confident You Have The Required Documentation For Winter 2018 Placement?

The Faculty of Education would like to remind all 1 Year B.Ed and Year 2 (of 2 Year) B.Ed students of the requirement to secure NEW PRC documentation for their upcoming Winter 2018 Placement, as recently communicated in a reminder email circulated to each of you, on Dec 15th, 2017.

How Do I Know If My PRC Documentation is Valid?Your PRC documentation cannot be dated before November 3rd, 2017 in order for it to be valid for the duration of your Winter 2018 placement.

For Example: To determine whether or not your PRC documentation is valid, you will look at:
  • the PRC application processing date - date in which officer signs the search as being conducted, or;
  • the date of  the letter generated by the Police Service location, providing the results of the search

If the date you see on your report is November 3rd, 2017 or later - your documentation is valid for your Winter 2018 placement

This is a requirement of everyone, regardless of what school board you have requested for your Winter 2018 Placement.

Why Do I Need New PRC Documentation?
In the event that we cannot secure a placement in your desired board, we will approach you for an alternate board choice.
If there is a switch in boards, it requires NEW PRC documentation - regardless of which board it is.

How Do I Submit My PRC Documentation?
Every student is required to provide a photocopy of their NEW PRC documentation in a sealed envelope, to the Education Office by March 1, 2018

On top of providing our office with the photocopy, you must also:

For Placement in Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB)
The Faculty of Education requires NEW original documentation to be brought to the Administration Office by March 1st, 2018.

For Placement in Any Other School BoardThe Faculty of Education asks all students to refer to the following document, to better understand each school board's PRC instructions.
