Happy 2 Be Here Initiative - Cohort Calendars

Hello!

The Operation Happy 2 Be Here group (OH2BH) is looking to study the flow and level of work throughout the fall and winter semesters. The idea here is to get a snapshot of the flow of the semesters, and for instructors to see if it's possible to adjust the cohort's workload if too many assignments fall at or around the same time.

As part of our initiative, we have created Cohort Calendars. All teacher candidates and course instructors are invited to select the relevant links from the list below that apply to them. Selecting the link will prompt you to log in to your LU account and then will subscribe you to that calendar and its content and updates.

We are, however, seeking assistance from teacher candidates from each cohort (ideally 2 or 3 from each, but at least 1) who would volunteer to add assignment dates to your cohort's schedule. These volunteers would then email Meridith Lovell-Johnston (mlovell@lakeheadu.ca) with their name and cohort number to be given editor access.

When adding assignments, please select (by clicking) the date and time (if one is set, or use the beginning of your class time) the assignment is due. In the event title, please write the course code (e.g., EDUC4031), instructors' surname (if there is room), short name for assignment, and weighting (e.g., 20%). Please preface the title with an asterisk (*) if it is an elective or ** if it is your Planning, Evaluation, and Classroom Management course in year 1 (because these will overlap cohorts). If there is room in the title or the description, you can add relevant details such as length.

Please let us know when the information is entered and we will run a report from each calendar. Ideally, we would have all the information entered before next Wednesday, September 11, and in winter by the first Friday of the term (January 10).

Thank you for helping us with this initiative!
