Established in 1987, the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA) Award is
awarded annually to a graduating teacher from each of Ontario’s faculties of education.

The purpose of the award is to acknowledge the academic excellence of a teacher candidate in
one or more of the pre-service Catholic religion courses offered by the faculty.
