Canadian Student Outdoor Education Conference 2019

Canadian Student Outdoor Education Conference 2019

THE HORWOOD CONFERENCE
"Restoration & Resilience"
Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, February 1-2

The Canadian Student Outdoor Education Conference (aka The Horwood Conference) is an annual event organized by and for students studying outdoor and environmental education, health and physical education, outdoor recreation, adventure leadership, experience-based learning and/or related fields. It is hosted at Queen’s University each year and held on a weekend in February. Graduate, Undergraduate, B.Ed and College students attend the Horwood Conference to present oral or poster contributions on various research topics related to outdoor education, as well as share games and learning activities, lead a variety of workshops, and attend special invited lectures. Students can choose to simply register as a conference participant or complete the attached presentation proposal form and attend as a conference presenter.

The Conference Organizing Committee is now accepting presentation proposals for the February 2019 conference. Proposals for paper presentations, posters, workshops, or creative projects will be accepted up until the submission deadline of December 15, 2018.  Restoration and Resilience is the theme of this year's conference—an open or general theme chosen specifically to encourage a wide range of submissions, diverse in both format of presentation and topics related to outdoor education.

Full details of the conference, including a fillable proposal submission form and conference registration package, may be found at the conference webpage —  https://skhs.queensu.ca/news-events/skhs-annual-conferences-and-seminars/horwood-conference/

We look forward to receiving proposals and hope you will be able to join us at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario in February 2019.

Sincerely,

2019 Horwood Conference Organizing Committee

As always, American/international students are welcome to attend and present!

  1. The Communication and Art classes are held in Murphy Hall. This is where the stables had once been and students claim to hear the sounds of horses, especially at night. A young stable boy is thought to have died in the stables from an accident because his ghost has been seen on many occasions. He is around ten years old and appears at the end of hallways. When students ask him where his parents are, he disappears.  Mclimen Alma

  2. Education is the whole studying procedure for not only studying but, to a deeper level, for a person to come across more about himself as well as the world which he is residing in. Thus, it is not so much about figuring out certain topic material such as Arithmetic, Technology, British or Ethical Education and studying but how we can implement this information smartly in our everyday life. Even more important, good education also probes and studies the procedure for studying that differs from the others in every one of us.
