Event Title: Strategies for Teaching First Nations Students in the North

Description: Join us for a free professional development event for teachers and teacher candidates that focuses on Indigenous perspectives in education. Four key areas will be discussed during this workshop:

• Embedding “Wise Practices” in northern teaching experiences
• What’s so special about the north or remote communities?
• Why does history matter?
• What does success look like, feel like, and walk like in the north?

There will also be an opportunity to learn more about Teach For Canada’s preparation and support program.
