Orillia Campus
Please be advised that in the interest of our staff and students’ health and safety and based on recommendations by relevant health organizations, there have been some modifications to the Wellness Services being offered on the Orillia campus.
Nurse Practitioner: Please be advised that the Huronia Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic (HNPLC) will be postponing all appointments on campus. Phone appointments will be conducted as appropriate. Students will be able to book in-person appointments at the HNPLC in Barrie if needed. Please contact HNPLC directly for any inquiries at 705-835-7545.
Counselling: On-going clients with booked appointments will be offered phone counselling sessions with their on-going counsellor while/if they are finishing up their term in Orillia.
New clients will be referred to services which already offer “virtual counselling” options and/or telephone counselling:
- All students who are enrolled in LUSU’s extended healthcare plan (i.e. did not opt out) have access to realcampus.ca and the maple app which offer instant access to a counsellor via chat, phone, text or video chat as well as a suite of on-line wellness resources.

- If a student has “opted out” of LUSU’s extended healthcare plan will still be able to access province-wide resources available on-line and/or by phone/text. Students will be provided with information for:

Chiropractor: As recommended by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, we have suspended all non-emergency chiropractic appointments.
Naturopath: We are postponing all nonessential naturopath appointments. Where appropriate, appointments will be conducted over the phone with Dr. Parsons.
If you begin to exhibit COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough and respiratory distress), contact your local District Health Unit and reduce contact with others by isolating yourself at home (do not come into the Wellness Centre). Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (Orillia): 705-721-7520
Simcoe Muskoka COVID-19 Assessment Centre
In order to meet the growing needs of area residents with medical concerns related to COVID-19, a dedicated assessment centre has been opened at 490 Huronia Road, Barrie. The assessment centre is located in the rear building of the Eagle Ridge complex and is NOT at the Huronia Urgent Care Clinic.
Prior to attending the clinic, please complete the Coronavirus Self Assessment Tool to determine if you need to seek further assessment.

- Monday, March 16: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 17 to Sunday, March 22: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
At the assessment centre, you will be seen by a healthcare professional, who will provide you with the necessary care and instructions for follow up, if required. The swab test for COVID-19 is NOT being provided at the assessment centre; however, should the healthcare team determine that you require a swab, you will receive further information.
