September 8th, 2018 Math Exam Results Now Available in MyCourselink - YEAR 1 and YEAR 2 of the 2 Year B.Ed Program

This email is to advise all B.Ed Professional Program students that the results for the September 8th, 2018 Math Competency Exam are now available in D2L (MyCourselink).

Student Instructions for Viewing Math Exam Results on D2L:
  • Sign-in to MyCourselink
  • Click on the list of your available course sites
  • Select:
    • EDUC 0450 YBO (2018Y) - 2 Year B.Ed students
  • Select "Grades" from menu across the top of the page
  • Locate Assignment named: "Sept 2018 Math Exam"
  • You should see either a "P" or an "F"
Be patient. With many accessing D2L at once, you may experience errors.If you are still experiencing issues today, it may be best to try again on Monday.

Next Steps:If the results show a "P" You have now satisfied this B.Ed degree requirement.If you have passed the exam and already registered in EDUC 3519 as your .50 FCE in elective, we encourage you to consider dropping the course and adding .50 FCe in electives that might be available.

If results show an "F" 

YEAR 1 (of the 2 Year B.Ed Program) StudentsYou must do the following:
  • Make an appointment with the Math Exam Coordinator, Sharon Malyczewsky (smalycze@lakeheadu.ca) to review your exam, as soon as possible
  • Arrange to drop your .50 FCE in Education Electives
  • Add either EDUC 3519 YAO or YBO to your current class registration by no later than Monday Sept 10th, 2018 at 4:00pm and notify Julie Howell (jhowell@lakeheadu.ca) that you have completed this required task.
  • NOTE: We are working on opening a 3rd section of EDUC 3519 (YCO) - once officially scheduled, you can register for it. It will occur on TUES 5-7pm in OH002
  • Your next attempt of the math exam will be on: Thurs March 21st, 2019
  • Consider taking advantage of planned "Mock Exam" sessions in January and February 2019
  • Consider utilizing our Peer Tutoring program
  • Consider hiring a private 1x1 tutor
Year 2 (of 2 Year B.Ed Program) StudentsYou must do the following:
  • Make an appointment with the Math Exam Coordinator, Sharon Malyczewsky (smalycze@lakeheadu.ca) to review your exam, as soon as possible  
  • Your final attempt to satisfy this B.Ed degree program requirement, will be on: Thurs March 21st, 2019.
  • Consider taking advantage of planned "Mock Exam" sessions in January and February 2019
  • Consider utilizing our Peer Tutoring program
  • Consider hiring a private 1x1 tutor
